If you go down in the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise.

Maybe you know the children’s song from The Teddy Bears Picnic?

‘If you go down in the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise.

If you go down in the woods today, you’d better go in disguise.

For every bear that ever there was

Will gather there for certain because

Today’s the day the teddy bears have their picnic.’

This week, instead of Teddy Bears, there were Filasez boys and girls to be found enjoying their picnic in the woods.  Tuesdays trip began on the Post Auto and was followed by a journey on the ‘Stadtbus’ to the Rosenberg shopping centre.  From here, we headed to our lunch destination which was well hidden within the trees but found by the children with ease.

The woods provided us with an amazing playground – there was no sign of boredom from anyone.  Chatting, running, wood carving were just a part of the programme.  Maybe you don’t know that the Filasez also has a band?  The children provided great percussion to a song with the use of two sticks, or in some cases two logs.

Our day was once again enhanced by good weather and the several sightings of the sun resulted in some very thirsty children.  Once again, the day came to its end with amazing speed.
