Fleurir: One Idea, Many Ways to Grow

When children are free to choose what they want to work on, they surprise us. They surprise us with their ability to stay with an idea, with their curiosity, persistence, and all the effort they put in when what their doing feels meaningful to them.

This year, we started our project time with shared ideas. Our first project came from a real need: we needed a tool to help us organise ourselves, day by day and week by week. And so, our first Fleurir was born.

One shared idea has now blossomed in as many different ways as there are children taking part. Each one has made it their own: through different aesthetics, techniques, materials, and ways of working.

And it is beautiful to see how, from the same seed, such different flowers can grow.

Perhaps this is what Fleurir is all about: creating space for every child to find their own way to grow an idea, transform it, and make it shine.
